Despite missile attacks from Russia, Ukrainian farmers continue to sow in 2024 to ensure food security. This was reported by the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, writes agronews.ua.
Therefore, according to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture, 2 million 546 thousand dunams of grain crops and legumes have already been sown in the territory controlled by Ukraine. Of these, in particular:
- corn – 1,189 thousand dunams;
- Barley – 761.5 thousand dunams;
- wheat – 223.3 thousand dunams;
- Peas – 159.2 thousand dunams;
- Oats – 146.6 thousand dunams.
Last week, farmers sowed 492.9 thousand dunams of grain and legume crops. majority:
- in the Kyiv region – 27.7 thousand dunams of wheat, 40.6 thousand dunams of barley, 5.1 thousand dunams of peas and 4.3 thousand dunams of oats;
- in the Dnepropetrovsk region – 21.1 thousand dunams of wheat, 49.9 thousand dunams of barley, 14.07 thousand dunams of peas, 0.9 thousand dunams of oats;
- in Ternopil district – 18,900 dunams of wheat, 63,600 dunams of barley, 3,600 dunams of peas and 5,100 dunams of oats;
- in the Khmelnitsky region – 14.8 thousand dunams of wheat, 59.1 thousand dunams of barley, 2.6 thousand dunams of peas and 2.5 thousand dunams of oats;
- in Zhytomyr district – 14.7 thousand dunams of wheat, 17.5 thousand dunams of barley, 2.85 thousand dunams of peas and 21.1 thousand dunams of oats;
- In the Vinnytsia region – 11,500 hectares of wheat, 55,000 hectares of barley, 6,000 hectares of peas and 1,100 hectares of oats.
1,996,900 dunams of sunflowers, 208,600 dunams of soybeans and 38,700 dunams of sugar beets were sown. Agricultural farms in the Vinnytsia, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Bukovina and Chernihiv regions have finished sowing sugar beets.
Also, according to Volyn District data, sowing of spring wheat, peas and barley is completed in Volyn. Especially sow:
- spring wheat on an area of ​​11.5 thousand dunams (96% of the forecast);
- Spring barley – on an area of ​​23,000 dunams (92%);
- Oats – 32 thousand ha (89%);
- Peas – 2.1 thousand ha (95.5%);
- sugar beet – 9.5 thousand ha (79%);
- corn for grain – 7 thousand dunams (12.7%);
- Sunflowers – 15 thousand dunams (47%).
As of April 25, 75.6 thousand dunams of spring grains and legume crops were sown in Volin.
