Did Jordan’s Princess Salma shoot down Iranian drones? Achi-News

A social media site claims that Jordanian princess pilot Salmi shot down Iranian drones.

Indian media reported that it was claimed on social media that Princess Salma bint Abdullah, the third child of King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan, shot down Iranian drones that penetrated Jordanian airspace on her way to Israel.

It should be noted that in December of last year, Princess Selma was part of the team that delivered aid to a hospital in Gaza.

Although Princess Salma is a pilot of the Royal Jordanian Air Force, the photo circulated on social media is misleading and the claim that she participated in the operation to shoot down Iranian drones has not been confirmed by official sources.

In viral posts, Princess Salma of Jordan shot down 6 Iranian drones last night, with a photo of the 23-year-old princess in a Jordanian air force pilot’s uniform.

However, the widely shared photo is from 2023, which is confirmed by some news from last year with the same photo.

After the posts went viral, X, formerly known as Twitter, added community comment, a platform feature that allows users to add context and check for misleading and fake posts.

X’s community note states that this claim is fictitious and made up.

X said in a community message that Princess Salma of Jordan is leading an Air Force initiative to drop medical equipment to Gaza and was published on December 15, 2023.

Ax further wrote in the community comment that propagandists are spreading digitally altered news to spread their propaganda about the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
