Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was reprimanded by the Delhi High Court on Friday. The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government and the Delhi Corporation came under the control of a division bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh of the Delhi High Court as the Delhi government struggled to provide textbooks to more than two lakh students.

A division bench of the Chief Justice on Friday said that Arvind Kejriwal gave priority to personal interest over the interest of the country in public interest litigation. They also said, “It is not the job of the court to distribute books or school clothes, Kejriwal only believes in power, how much power he wants.”

A public interest litigation filed by an organization called Social Jurists alleges that students of Municipal Corporation of Delhi schools are yet to receive textbooks. However, the Delhi Corporation Commissioner’s argument is that because the standing committee has not been formed, textbooks, clothes and bags cannot be given to the students. The Delhi High Court has ordered the Delhi government to take necessary action within two days. Let’s see what measures the Delhi government takes.
