RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint News / Pakistan Point – 28th Mar, 2024 ) City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has stepped up its ongoing operation against encroachments and illegal parking in city markets.
According to the City Traffic Officer (CTO), Rawalpindi Taimoor Khan, this year, 11,419 challan tickets were issued for wrong parking while 42 cases were also registered for disrupting traffic flow on city roads.
Taimoor Khan said that CTP is conducting a major campaign across the district against illegal parking and encroachment mafia to further improve the flow of traffic.
He said that warnings were given to the shopkeepers and owners of the plaza before the launch of the campaign. He said strict action was being taken as per law against those who did not remove encroachment.
Cases were also being registered against those found involved in obstructing the flow of traffic, the CTO said.
Illegal parking and encroachment on the roads cause traffic jams and also create problems for other road users, said Taimoor Khan, adding that firm steps taken by the CTP would not only help restore the beauty of the city, but citizens would also see a clear statement. improvement in traffic flow.
The GTG further said that special tasks have been given to the education wing in charge of educating the citizens and students about parking and other traffic rules.
