Malta: Ex-IPS officer complains to ex-MP return commission. North Malda on Wednesday (Malda) BJP candidate Khagen Murmu (Khagen Murmu) informed the election commission against Trinamool (TMC) candidate Prasun Banerjee (Prasun Banerjee) from the Lok Sabha constituency. This time, Prasun complained to the State Election Commission against Khagen.

This time in Lok Sabha Election (Lok Sabha Election 2024) outgoing Member of Parliament Khagen Murmu is fighting for BJP in North Malda Lok Sabha constituency. On the other hand, the Trinamool has relied more on former IPS officer Prasoon Banerjee than Rajya Sabha MP Mausam Noor in that centre. Prasunbabu was once a Superintendent of Police in Malda district. He also held the post of DIG of Malda range. Bringing his past to light, Khagen yesterday alleged that Prasun was abusing his old powers by holding meetings with district officials and the police administration at a private hotel. He complained about it to the Electoral Commission. Prasunbabu did not mince words yesterday in response to this remark of Khagenbabu.

Prasoon Banerjee held a press conference at Malda Press Corner on Thursday and said, ‘Today, I am holding a press conference in the wake of comments made yesterday by the BJP candidate for Malda North Lok Sabha constituency. I found out his full comments after the campaign ended. We have already filed a complaint against him under Section 171G of the IPC with the State Election Commission. It is an offense to make false allegations against any applicant without proof. The Code of Conduct also mentions that. We have reported all the incidents to the Electoral Commission. I will not respond to their comments. If such an event occurs in the future, we will approach the commission again.’
