The federal government is earmarking $3 million for the production of drones in Ukraine to support Kiev’s fight against Russian invasion.
Defense Secretary Bill Blair says the financial aid is being done in cooperation with Britain.
Speaking to a group of defense leaders, Blair also announced $13 million for the Czech Republic’s effort to supply ammunition to Ukraine.
The announcements allocate funding that was committed last year when the Liberal government pledged $500 million in military support.
Blair also provided an update on previously announced donations.
According to him, the first wave of armored vehicles as well as 10 tactical boats promised to Ukraine should be delivered this summer.
