Britain’s King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment, Buckingham Palace said on Monday. The announcement caused an uproar and world leaders began sending messages of condolence to the British royal family. A statement from Buckingham Palace said it was not prostate cancer. The question arose, why not, it was discovered when the 75-year-old king was recently treated for an enlarged prostate in a clinic in London. Subsequent diagnostic tests found a form of cancer. Although this has not dampened the king’s spirits, he remains completely positive about the treatment.” However, at this stage, no details have been given about the type of cancer he has.

Charles, who became king on September 8, 2022 after the death of his 96-year-old mother, Queen Elizabeth II, was currently enjoying good health, barring polo and skiing injuries, and no other physical complications. He will continue his constitutional role as head of state with various private meetings. Prince Harry is said to have spoken to his father about his cancer diagnosis and will be visiting the UK in the coming days.

It is expected that Charles will be present at the meetings of the Privy Council, but the details of how they will be held are not yet known. Charles was last seen in public on Sunday in Sandringham, Norfolk, where he attended a church charity event with his Queen Camilla. He was seen in public there for the first time after being released from a clinic in London. He smiled and waved to well-wishers as he walked into St Mary Magdalene’s church in the village. After being diagnosed with cancer, Charles has apologized to everyone for his decision to postpone upcoming public duties for treatment.
