Residents of Blake Court in Gosport also faced disgusting scenes of human excrement in corridors and stairwells, and drug paraphernalia littering the floor, police said.

On Wednesday, April 24, magistrates in Portsmouth granted a three-month partial closure order to the address, following an application by Hampshire and Isle of Wight constables.

The court heard that the residents and visitors to the apartment will make noise at all hours of the day and night, both at the address and in the common areas.

Some residents were abused and assaulted, and faced frequent drug dealing, drug use and drunken drug users passed out in stairwells.

The police teams carried out regular enforcement at the address to seize drugs and arrest suspects involved in the use and supply of drugs.

The closure order is a step forward for the community to ensure that people who are persistently involved in this type of activity cannot return to the address.

Judges found the closure order necessary to prevent further disorderly conduct and criminal offenses at the address and a serious nuisance to the public.

Apart from those who have a legitimate reason to enter the address such as police, emergency services and partners, anyone found entering the property will be subject to arrest and prosecution, which could result in up to six months in prison, a fine or a fine. both.

Inspector Sam Warren said: “I am very pleased to see the crime, disorder and anti-social behavior faced by residents at Blake Court recognized by the courts, who have granted our request for a partial closure order for the address.

“This follows months of investigation and evidence gathering by my officers in Gosport.

“Since coming to Gosport, I have continually promised to listen to the community and respond strongly to the people and places that cause the most harm in our communities.”

The inspector added: “This is another important step towards eliminating drug-related harm and violence in our city, and I hope this action will improve trust and confidence within the community in the fact that we are listening to you and taking action.”
