Bangladesh appointed Mushtaq Ahmed as the team’s spin bowling coach Achi-News

Dhaka (Sports Desk) The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed former Pakistan leg-spinner and World Cup winner Mushtaq Ahmed as the team’s spin bowling coach ahead of the 2024 ICCT20 World Cup.

BCB said in a statement that Mushtaq Ahmed will join the squad ahead of the preparatory camp for the T20 series against Zimbabwe later this month and the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. He will work with the Bangladeshi team until the end of the month

Mushtaq Ahmed said that he is very honored to be a part of the Bangladesh cricket team as a spin bowling coach.

“I am looking forward to this role and wish to pass on my experience to the players because they are coaches and I always believe they are one of the most dangerous teams in the world,” he said.

“They can beat anyone because they have the ability, the resources and the talent,” he said, adding that he would try to instill that belief in them and the opportunity to work with them, but they ‘very excited’.

Mushtaq Ahmed has also been the spin bowling coach of England, the West Indies and Pakistan and held the position of bowling consultant for the Green Shirts for two years.

During his six-year association with the England Cricket Board, England won the T20 World Cup, several Ashes series and topped the ICC Team Lists in all three formats.

He has also worked with Karachi Kings, Delhi Daredevils and Surrey.
