A pregnant Perth woman has been left with a bad taste in her mouth after receiving a shocking note along with her McDonald’s order.
Revealing the situation on Reddit, the woman’s boyfriend said his partner had simply ordered a “Sausage McMuffin” from McDonald’s in Maylands in Perth’s eastern suburbs.
“She chose Option 1 because she didn’t want Eggs (she’s pregnant). All other ingredients were clearly listed: ‘Sausage McMuffin: English Muffin, Beef Sausage, etc’.”
However, the pair were left stunned when their breakfast order from the fast food giant arrived with a shocking note attached and an empty wrapper inside.
“Sausage egg has egg, muffins, sausage, cheese, there’s nothing for everything, so we just put the wrap,” the note read.
The boyfriend further explained that his partner had actually ordered a “sausage McMuffin” and not a sausage and egg McMuffin “with no additions or subtractions”.
“The order history and the physical receipt show that all the ingredients were removed, so I can’t prove that my boyfriend didn’t do this either intentionally or accidentally.
Internet sleuths eager to find out how such trouble actually happened were left scratching their heads, with some asking to see the receipt.
“I’m guessing the system has listed next to none of the ingredients. Either I did this by mistake when ordering or I had a system problem. Show the receipt,” one person said.
“I feel like we need to see a screenshot of the order to be sure she didn’t tick no to everything,” said another.
“Looks like we have an up-and-coming comedian working at McDonalds,” added a third commenter.
He added that the couple had not been able to recreate the issue and that the digital and physical copies of the receipt showed that all the ingredients had been removed.
“She also didn’t check the details in the cart when she placed the order,” he said.
“However, she vehemently denies even entering the customization menu, and I almost completely believe her.
“It’s highly unlikely that she went into the customization menu and removed the ingredients one by one – but I can’t prove she didn’t.”
