A huge explosion took place in a scrap yard near the Khajri-Khiria bypass, about 20 kilometers from the Jabalpur headquarters. The echo of this event spread to a distance of about 5 kilometers. At first people thought there was an earthquake, but later when people came out of their homes, they found out there was an explosion in the junk yard. As soon as the information was received, Additional Superintendent of Police Sonali Dubey along with Adhartal police station also reached the spot. The fire brigade and ambulance have also been called to the scene as a precaution. This junk is said to belong to Shamim Kabadi, who is a history holder and has been on the run for a long time. It is suspected that this accident could have happened due to a fire in the ammunition stolen from the Khamaria Ordnance Factory or the gas cylinder used to cut iron. FSL and BDS teams are also called to the scene for investigation. The police have detained two people so far.
After the explosion in the junkyard, ASP and the police team reached the spot.
