3 days after Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Ki Sathra Punjab campaign ended, but garbage dumps remain the same in many residential areas including Maryam Nawaz’s constituency.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the Clean Punjab campaign from March 1 to March 31 to clean Punjab from dirt.

Garbage was to be collected from open fields, cemeteries and outside schools across Punjab, a task entrusted by the Prime Minister to local governments.

The situation could not improve even in the Punjab Chief Minister’s own constituency, heaps of garbage and boiling drains opened the pit.

Different areas of Lahore including Gulbarg, Mehmood Buti, Walton Road and other areas also present a similar scene.

Citizens say the crane came but the workers didn’t and even if they do, they take pictures and leave.

The Provincial Minister, Local Government, Zeeshan Rafiq, says that cleaning is a very difficult task, 400 out of 1000 rubbish dumps in empty fields have been cleaned and more work will be done.

The Chief Minister of Punjab had issued an order to make an integrated strategy of solid waste management system on the basis of this campaign.
