Zubin Garg created controversy during the 66th Central Rongli Bihu Samlan held in Majuli on April 22.

Despite being invited as the chief guest and awarded the prestigious title of ‘Sangeet Sindhu’ by the Satradhikar of Garmur Satra, Garg’s acceptance speech sparked controversy.

He expressed his reluctance to address the Stradhikars as divine beings, stating, "Common people refer to Satradhikars as Lord. This is not acceptable at all. Krishna was never God… He was a man."

Garg’s comments evoked strong reactions within Satrapeeth Majuli and on social media platforms.

The video went viral on social media and gained many views and opinions.

In response to the backlash, the artist admitted his mistake and published an apology.

Nevertheless, many in Majuli question Garg’s suitability as an artist, debating whether he has the necessary qualities expected of a man in his role.

A copy of the order is attached below.
