The hopes of Dumri farmers were dashed, water could not reach the fields, worries are increasing.
Efforts to revive four Udvah irrigation schemes that have been closed for years in the block seem to be failing. Two years have passed since the repair and construction of these irrigation schemes started at a cost of Rs 2 crore, but till now not a single drop of water has reached the farmers’ fields. If the above four schemes are started, then irrigation facilities will be available in about two hundred acres of land in the block and farmers will not have to depend on rain. One of these schemes has not been started due to lack of motors, while the other three schemes are said to have been completed, but farmers are not getting any benefit from it.
