Heat wave conditions continued in some parts of Bihar on Monday. The weather department said the mercury crossed 40 degrees Celsius in at least nine districts of the state. The meteorological department said that intense heat will continue in many parts of Bihar in the coming days.

The highest temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Shahpura district. Aurangabad recorded 41.2 degrees Celsius. It was followed by Khagaria (40.9°C), Bhojpur, Banka and Navada (40.7°C each), Dehri (Rotas) at 40.2°C, Gaya and Motihari (40°C each).

The chief secretary convened a high-level meeting

According to IMD data, the maximum temperature in the state capital Patna was recorded at 39.3 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Brajesh Mehrotra convened a high-level meeting to review the preparedness of various departments in view of the extreme weather conditions in the country.

“The CS has asked the concerned departments to coordinate among themselves, and they should be ready to deal with the situation effectively,” an official statement said.
