New Delhi (April 26): The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections will be held today, Friday. Voting will be held for a total of 88 seats in 13 states and Union Territories. With the second stage, voting will be completed in one third of the country’s seats. That means, the fate of candidates for 189 out of 543 seats will be locked in the EVMs. All 20 constituencies of Kerala will go to polls simultaneously on Friday.

Apart from this, the voting will be held for the remaining 13 seats in Rajasthan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of 370 seats for the BJP and 400 for the NDA in this election. In the second stage, the party fights for maximum seats. In such a situation, the question is how much the BJP hopes to complete ‘Mission 370’ by the second phase of polling.

Voting will be held for 3 seats in Chhattisgarh, 3 seats in Bengal, 1 seat each in Tripura-Jammu-Kashmir and Manipur. Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad constituency in Kerala.

In the second phase, BJP wins 70 out of 88 seats. The Congress also faces elections in 70 seats. Shiv Sena is contesting on 3 seats and Shiv Sena UBT on 4 seats. CPM has fielded candidates in 16 seats. Bahujan Samaj Party has fielded candidates in 74 seats. Janata Dal United has fielded candidates in 5 seats. Aiming to achieve Mission 370, the BJP’s focus is on the southern seats. Kerala and Karnataka are special in it. BJP claims this is the third stream between UDF-LDF in Kerala. If the BJP wins 10 or more seats here, it is clear that its vote share will increase. Because the BJP has reached saturation point in North India. At the same time, the BJP wants to repeat its excellent performance in 2019 in Karnataka as well.

BJP is confident of winning at least 10 seats in Kerala

In the second phase, the voting will be held for all the 20 seats in Kerala. BJP’s score is 0-0-0 in Kerala in the last three Lok Sabha elections. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently made a big announcement in Thiruvananthapuram that his party will win double digit seats in the state in the Lok Sabha elections. This means that the BJP is expected to win at least 10 seats in the state.

In the last two months, PM Modi has traveled extensively to Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In the last few years, the BJP has tapped into the Hindu Left vote in Kerala. But minority voters are leaning towards Congress.

There is a trend of vote change in Kerala. When CPM-Congress thinks BJP will win, they shift their votes among themselves so that BJP can be defeated somehow. It remains to be seen how well this CPM-Congress formula will work against PM Modi’s strategy.

In Rajasthan too, BJP will be tested in 13 seats

Voting will be held for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan. Two of the 13 seats are contested by the sons of former prime ministers. The reputations of these two former prime ministers have been damaged. Vasundhara Raje’s son and sitting MP Dushyant Singh is the BJP candidate for the Jhalawar-Baran constituency, facing Urmila Jain Bhai of the Congress.

At the same time, Vaibhav Gehlot, son of Ashok Gehlot, is contesting in the Congress from the Jalore-Sirohi constituency, where he is fighting against Lumba Ram Chaudhary of the BJP. Apart from Jhalawar-Baran constituency, BJP has targeted Jodhpur, Barmer, Pali, Jalore, Rajsamand, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Banswara. BJP has been ruling Tonk-Sawai Madhopur for 10 years. Om Birla is MP from Kota.

BJP wants to increase voter turnout in 8 Lok Sabha seats in western UP

In the second phase, the polling will be held for 8 Lok Sabha seats in Western UP. Voting will be held in Meerut including Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Aligarh and Mathura. BJP has tried its best to retain all the seats in Western UP. Prime Minister Modi held rallies in Aligarh and Amroha recently.

How can Karnataka, the only fortress in the south, be conquered?

However, BJP has always performed brilliantly in Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka. Karnataka is the only state in the south where the BJP has a strong hold. In the 2019 elections, BJP won 25 out of 28 seats unilaterally. The Congress managed to win only one seat. In such a situation, the BJP once again faces the challenge of repeating its achievements like the last election. But the Congress is busy strengthening its hand.

If you’re losing more than 100 hairs a day, it’s dangerous!

In fact, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress faced a massive defeat in the state due to the scattering of OBC votes. The OBC votes had shifted in favor of the BJP. This time Congress is trying to merge dalits and tribals with OBCs. In fact Dalit and Tribal votes along with OBCs constitute the entire Okkaliga community. However, Okkaliga is considered a JDS voter. In such a situation, it is expected to join the BJP-JDS to get these votes.
