Bajaj Auto is going to launch the world’s first bike that will run on CNG fuel on June 18, 2024. The company’s CEO, Rajeev Bajaj, gave this information in an interview given to a media outlet. He participated in the launch event of the company’s most powerful bike Pulsar 400.

Bajaj said, “The world’s first CNG-powered motorcycle is coming next month. Compared to petrol-powered bikes, their running cost will be half. This is a wonderful innovation.

Bruiser 125 CNG may be the name
He said, “Amid rising fuel prices, Bajaj will target customers who are concerned about the ongoing hike with this upcoming CNG model. This bike will be launched in different phases. It will be launched first in Maharashtra and later in those states where CNG stations are available.

According to media reports, the name of this CNG running bike could be Bruiser 125 CNG. At the same time, Bajaj says that “we will create a portfolio of CNG bikes, which will include 100CC, 125CC and 150-160CC bikes.

CNG bikes will cause less pollution
The CEO of Bajaj Auto said in an interview last month that the company will launch CNG bikes in the first quarter of 2025. He said that we want to halve the cost of fuel.

Regarding the new project, Rajiv said that during the prototype testing, there was a 50% reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, a 75% reduction in carbon monoxide (CO) emissions and about a 90% reduction in non-methane hydrocarbon emissions. Compared to gasoline bikes a reduction was observed, which means there will be less pollution than CNG bikes.

Hero-Honda was tested 40 years ago
Rajiv Bajaj said, ‘This motorcycle can be great for the environment. But we promise to do what Rio Honda did 40 years ago. Then it actually reduced the fuel cost by 50-65% or doubled the mileage.

The CEO sought GST exemption from the government
Earlier, in an interview to PTI, the company’s CEO Rakesh Sharma gave information about the launch of the CNG bikes. He also urged the government to reduce the GST to 12% for its adoption.

Sharma said, “Even if the government does not impose 5% VAT considering that it is equal to electric vehicles, but at least it should impose less VAT than petrol vehicles. That means about 12% between the two. This will help both customers and companies.

A new Chetak electric scooter will arrive this month
At the launch event today (May 3), Bajaj talked about the brand’s upcoming products. Bajaj has confirmed that a new Chetak electric scooter will be launched this month and the company will launch at least one new scooter every year.

He said that soon some new products will be seen in the three-wheeler segment as well. Bajaj Auto’s market share in this segment is around 80%. The company is also looking to enter the e-rickshaw market, where it does not yet have any product.

The company’s shares yielded a return of 103.80% in one year.
The Bajaj Auto stock closed at Rs 9085 today i.e. May 3 (Friday) with a slight decline of 0.28%. The company’s shares yielded a return of 2.78% last week, negative 0.67% in a month, 68.03% in 6 months and 103.80% in one year. Only this year, that is, from January 1, 2024 until now, it has grown by 35.57%. The market capitalization of the company is Rs 2.54 lakh crore.
