No devotee gets a chance to participate in this secret pooja. Legends of the sacrificial ceremony are common in the Dhanteshwari temple. Even today, during a special ceremony on the Ashtami night of Navratri, Kalatri Puja is performed in the yantra installed in the outer room of the sanctum. The place where this ceremony is performed for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the people and the region. It is customary to sacrifice a mongri fish during this ceremony. Only the priest is present in this secret pooja. The presence of any other person is prohibited. In this puja, along with the fish sacrifice, liquor is also offered. The sacrifices are not made in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. People believe in Goddess Danteshwari and after fulfilling their vows, the devotees sacrifice goats, roosters, ducks and pigeons, but this is not done outside the temple. On Wednesday, Bhandara will be organized after Kanya Puja Havan and full offering. The Shobha Yatra of Lord Ram will start from 5:00 PM in the evening This Yatra will start from Anwarbhata in Dantwada and will tour the city.
