Today, Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination (DPEE) is a necessary step for pharmacy professionals who want to practice in India to obtain a license. To become a registered pharmacist under the Pharmacy Council of India as well as various pharmacy boards in the country, candidates must pass the exit exam, which assesses the knowledge and skills required to practice pharmacy across the country. The purpose of the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination (DPEE) is to ensure that a candidate seeking registration as a pharmacist with the State Board of Pharmacy has undergone comprehensive pharmacy education and practical training in the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) course as provided. in the Education Regulations, 2020 or the regulations that may be in force from time to time in an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948. Registration as a candidate for the Pharmacy Leaving Examination: No person shall be registered as a candidate for the Pharmacy Leaving Examination unless he has passed the Diploma Course in Pharmacy from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948. He shall be required to submit an application in the prescribed form attached to each The relevant documents showing proof of having passed the approved examination and the examination fee as determined by the PCI. The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) may, for the purposes of conducting the exit examination through the National Board for Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) be called the Prescribed Authority or designate an authority as the Prescribed Authority to conduct the examinations as may be decided by the PCI from time to time. There will be three essays of multiple choice questions on topics such as pharmaceuticals, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, hospital and clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical jurisprudence and drug store management, which assess the knowledge and abilities required to practice pharmacy throughout the country. . The language of the exam will be English. The test for each work will be three hours long. A candidate will be declared as having passed only if he obtains at least 50% marks in each paper separately. A candidate will have to pass all three papers in the same attempt. However, there will be no limit on the number of attempts to appear in the examination. Finally, the successful candidate will be given a certificate of eligibility for registration and practice which will be presented to the State Pharmacy Council for registration as a pharmacist.

After the entry into force of these regulations, the candidates who have completed the approved course of a diploma in pharmacy and after having qualified in the exit exam for a diploma in pharmacy only will be entitled to registration as pharmacists according to section 33 of the Pharmacy Law 1948. However, these regulations will not apply to those whose names are already registered in the state’s register of pharmacists.
