The court sent Rishikesh Verma to police custody till April 25. Former university controller Verma is one of the prime accused in the Rs 19.48 crore RGVP financial irregularity case. Verma reached the court around noon and surrendered before the judge.
His lawyer sought judicial remand for him, but public prosecutor PN Singh Rajput opposed it, saying that the police custody of the accused was necessary as he was one of the main accused in the case. The court sent Verma to police custody till Thursday.

Rajput is still on the run
