Guwahati: Unidentified miscreants vandalized a Congress booth camp at Jagiroad on April 17.

This comes just a day before voting begins for the Lok Sabha polls in Assam, where an alleged act of vandalism targeted the Congress election booth camp in Jagirwad.

Planters wreaked havoc at the Congress election campaign office in Jajap Mandal late on Wednesday night, tearing banners and posters. Among the casualties were posters with Congress candidate Pradiyot Bordoli.
Speaking to GPlus, a police official from the Jagiroad police station said, “We suspect that the people corrupted and created the chaos last night. We are looking into it to gather more evidence.”
According to reports, the incident also drew sharp reactions from party workers, who pointed fingers at the opposition, claiming that the vandalism was a desperate attempt to stall the Congress’ election prospects.
