Communication Statement – April 16, 202413:30 in the afternoon
We can confirm that we are actively responding to an incident involving the NGTL natural gas system approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Edson, Alta in Yellowhead County.
TC Energy was notified of this incident at approximately 11:00 MT and immediately activated our emergency response procedures. We coordinate with the emergency authorities. The affected part of the pipeline is isolated and shut down. No injuries were reported. Our main focus right now is the health and safety of responding personnel, surrounding communities and mitigating risk to the environment.
We communicate all appropriate communications to regulators, customers, stakeholders and Indigenous communities.
We will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.
