After the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the second phase of voting will take place on April 26. A four-member group of suspected armed Maoists in Kerala’s Wayanad on Wednesday appealed to the people to boycott the Lok Sabha elections. This incident took place in the area falling under Thalappuzha police station.

A police officer said that as soon as they learned about the situation of the Maoists in the area, policemen were immediately sent to Kambamala. Local people said the Maoists arrived at 6.15 am and started shouting slogans. He also appealed to the people to boycott the Lok Sabha elections.

The locals present there said that the Maoists were in uniform, and also had guns. They stayed in the area for about 20 minutes. However, later a video of Maoists also went viral in which they were seen talking to the local people. According to the video, when the Maoists arrived in the area, most of those present there were workers.
