The municipality of Longueuil has lifted its boil water advisory for the borough of Saint-Hubert.

It still exists for the city of Saint-Bruno-de-Monterville as a precaution.

Residents in Saint-Hubert no longer need to boil their tap water because “the results of the latest analyzes carried out in the Longueuil network are in accordance with the norms”.

The advice to boil water was issued due to “a drop in water pressure caused by works in the drinking water network”.

Municipality officials emphasize that no samples were collected that do not meet the requirements.

What to do after a boil water advisory has been lifted?

After a boil water advisory has been lifted, the water is considered safe to drink.

Anyone who wants to take precautions can do the following:

  • Open all the taps and let the water flow for a few minutes to allow the complete emptying of all the plumbing.
  • empty, wash and disinfect ice machines;
  • wash garden hoses and outdoor faucets;
  • If you have a home water treatment device, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. (There is no need to drain a hot water tank.)
