Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden replied: “Well of course we would expect the democratic government of Israel to investigate any allegations of wrongdoing and that is exactly what they are doing, and that is exactly what the Secretary Foreign and the First Minister encouraging them to do it.
“But I find it quite remarkable that she is trying to draw parallels between Israel’s legitimate war of self-defense and Russia’s behavior.”
Ms Black replied: “Three hundred bodies, including the elderly and the injured, some of them stripped, mutilated, with their hands tied behind their backs backs.
“The UK’s own arms policy states that if there is even a risk that war crimes could be taking place then that is reason enough to stop the sale of arms.
“So given all we know why hasn’t the Prime Minister done that yet?”
Mr Dowden was standing at Prime Minister’s Questions today while Rishi Sunak was on a visit to Germany and Poland.
Under Commons protocol Ms Black stood as deputy leader of the party for leader Stephen Flynn to question the deputy prime minister.
