Second Phase of Lok Sabha Election: Highest Polling in Tripura – Lowest Polling in UP Achi-News

New Delhi (A.27): A reported 63.50 percent voter turnout in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections involving 12 states and 88 seats in the union territories held on Friday ie April 26. The Election Commission (EC) said that the vote held peacefully on all sides.

The provisional voter turnout was 63.50 per cent by 8 pm and is expected to increase as the reports from all the polling booths are received. People arriving at polling stations were allowed to cast their votes until the end of the voting period.

Initially, voters boycotted polling in some villages in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura, Rajasthan’s Banswara and Maharashtra’s Parbhani. But later the election officials convinced the voters about the importance of voting.

The second phase of voting started at 7am and ended at 6pm. The first phase of polling was held on April 19 in 102 constituencies across 21 states and union territories. The temperature has increased in several states. People are waiting for rain.

Voting was held in all 20 constituencies of Kerala, 14 of the 28 constituencies in Karnataka, 13 in Rajasthan, 8 each in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, 6 in Madhya Pradesh, 5 each in Assam and Bihar respectively. Elections were held for 1 seat each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal and in Manipur, Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir.

55.08 percent voting in Bihar and 71.91 percent voting in Jammu and Kashmir. 71.84 percent voting in West Bengal. The Election Commission has received about 300 complaints in West Bengal regarding EVM defects.
