The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday questioned a man in connection with its investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment of teachers. The person arrested in the Schacht case is an associate of former West Bengal Education Minister Preta Chatterjee. Pretha Chatterjee’s close aide Santo Ganguly has been called by the agency for questioning in connection with the alleged scams, an official said.
He said that Ganguly allegedly worked as an agent to recruit people. He was called to appear before our officials in connection with the teacher recruitment fraud. Ganguly also came under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the parallel investigation of these scams. Earlier, ED questioned Ganguly and conducted a search operation at his house.
