Bollywood superstar Salman Khan extended his congratulations to Pakistan’s Shahzaib Rindh after he defeated India’s Rana Singh in the quarter-finals, leading his country to victory at Karate Combat 45.
Salman, often referred to as the Tiger of Bollywood, was present during the match, which saw Pakistan and India face off in one of the most eagerly awaited battles of the tournament.
After the fight, Salman and Shahzaib shared a light conversation, during which Salman humorously asked, “Big fight. Do you knock out everywhere in 20, 20 seconds?”
The two shared a laugh before Shahzaib introduced Salman to his brother, who captured the memorable moment. Then they posed together for a photo.
“@beingsalmankhan it was an honor to fight in front of your boss watching you since childhood. Love you bhaijan ❤️ Thank you bro @abdu_rozik you are such a good person@basitrind5,” Shahzaib posted on his Instagram account.
It is important to remember that the battle at stake was ultimately decided in the last round, following victories by Pakistan’s Rizwan Ali and India’s Himanshu Kaushik in the first and second matches, respectively that.
The event started with Pakistan’s Rizwan Ali going head to head with India’s Pawan Gupta in the first round. Rizwan had little trouble defeating his opponent, with Gupta finding himself on the mat shortly after Rizwan landed a knockdown in the first round.
Pakistan were leading 1-0 before India’s Himanshu Kaushik took on Faizan Khan in the second round. If Pakistan had won that round, they would have won the match. However, Kaushik managed to defeat Faizan, who stepped into Uloomi Karim after he was disqualified for missing his weight by five kilos.
With the match tied 1-1, it all came down to the quarter-finals where Pakistan captain Shahzaib Rindh faced India’s Rana Singh. Rindh’s relentless attacks from the start of the match cornered his opponent, and he eventually won the fight by technical decision.
Following the fight, Rindh entered the ring waving Pakistani and Indian flags, symbolizing his desire for peace between the two countries.
