Meteorologists say the rains are triggered by severe storms moving over the region. These storms form in the Mediterranean Sea. Then continue east. But this time unusually it flowed south. Is such a torrential rain in the desert an ominous sign?

According to Satchidananda Tripathi, professor of civil engineering at IIT Kanpur, the chances of such rains due to cloud seeding are very low.
