BJP account has not been opened in Pollachi

Pollachi Lok Sabha seat is one of the 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country and 39 in Tamil Nadu. This Lok Sabha constituency is a general constituency. Pollachi is a semi-urban parliamentary constituency. Here, more than 60 percent of the population lives in cities while around 39 percent live in villages. Pollachi is a major city in Tamil Nadu. This Lok Sabha constituency has been considered the stronghold of AIADMK. In the 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) had won here, but in 2019, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) had won here. DMK’s K. Shanmuga Sundaram defeated AIADMK’s C. Mahendran.

Shanmuga Sundaram got 51.2% votes while C. Mahendran of AIADMK got 35.0% votes. Mookambika of Makkal Needhi Mayam, who stood third, got 5.5 percent votes, U Sanuja, who stood fourth, got 2.9 percent, and S Muthukumar, who stood fifth, got 2.5 percent votes. The Independent R. was in sixth place. G Rajendheeran got 0.5 percent of votes and Bahujan Samaj Party’s Ganesh Murthy, who stood seventh, got 0.3 percent of votes.

DMK victory in 2019

In 2019, DMK’s Shanmuga Sundaram defeated AIADMK’s C Mahendran by 1,75,883 votes. While Shanmuga Sundaram got 554,230 votes, C Mahendran got 3,78,347 votes, Mookambika Makkal Needhi Maiyam stood third with 59,693 votes, Independent U Sanuja stood fourth with 31,483 votes, S Muthukumar stood fifth with 26,663 the RG is fifth with 26,663 RG. highest position, got 5,247 votes and BSP’s Ganesh Murthy, who stood at seventh position, got 3,187 votes. A total of 14 candidates were in the fray in 2019. Earlier in 2015, C. Mahendran of AIADMK defeated ER Easwaran of KMDK by 1,40,974 votes. DMK’s Pongalur N stood third. Palanisamy had got 2,51,829 votes. The Congress party was fourth here. Congress candidate Selvaraj got 30,014 votes.

In the first elections held in 1952, GR Damodaran of the Congress Party had won. After this, the Congress party won in 1957 and 1962. After this, DMK won in 1967 and 1971, while AIADMK won in 1977, DMK in 1980, then AIADMK won consecutively in 1984, 1989 and 1991. Pollachi Lok Sabha seat is considered a stronghold of AIADMK. AIADMK has won here seven times. This Lok Sabha constituency consists of six assembly seats – Valparai, Kinathukadavu, Thondamuthur, Udumalaipettai, Madathukulam and Pollachi. There are a total of 15,20,504 voters in the Pollachi Lok Sabha constituency. In this, the number of male voters is – 7,74,511, the number of female voters is – 7,45,820 and the number of third gender voters is – 173. In this Lok Sabha constituency, the Scheduled Caste population is about 19.34% and the Scheduled Tribes population about 1.02%. In 2019, the total voting percentage here was 71.15%. For the 2014 elections, DMK presented Easwaraswamy, AIADMK field A. Karthikeyan, BJP has played the role of Vasantharajan and Naam Tamilar Katchi has played the role of Suresh Kumar.

Pollachi is the second largest city in Tamil Nadu after Coimbatore. The Tirumurti Swami temple here is famous throughout India. Along with this, Animal Wildlife Sanctuary, Parambikulim Wildlife Sanctuary, Topslip Picnic Area are famous tourist places here.
