Sakshi resigns from wrestling
However, Sakshi has now retired from wrestling. She was unhappy that Sanjay Singh, close to BJP MP Brij Bhushan Charan Singh, became the president of the Indian Wrestling Association. On December 21, 2023, Malik held a press conference in Delhi. During this he said that we slept on the streets for 40 days and many people from many places in the country came to support us. If Brij Bhushan, Sharan Singh’s business partner and associate, is elected president of the wrestling association, I will quit wrestling. Thanks to everyone who supports us. I fought the battle with all my heart. If the President remains a person like Brij Bhushan Charan Singh, then I will give up my wrestling.
He was in the news again due to the performance of the wrestlers
30 Indian wrestlers, including Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punya and Vish Phogat, sat on strike at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on January 18. The wrestlers accused the president of the wrestling association, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, of running the association arbitrarily and sexually exploiting female wrestlers. Breibuchen pleaded not guilty, but the wrestlers’ protest continued. Several officials met the wrestlers, but to no avail. Finally, after a meeting with Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, the wrestlers ended the strike on January 21. A committee was formed to investigate the allegations against Brij Bhushan Singh and the work of the wrestling association was also handed over to the committee. Brij Bhushan Singh was asked to stay away from the work of the wrestling association. The commission of inquiry submitted its report in April, but it has not been published. Meanwhile, news has arrived that Brige Boshan has been found innocent in the report.
