Amid political excitement across the country, the Election Commission has started a ‘home voting policy’ to ensure more voter participation. Under this policy, a total of 4,334 people above the age of 85 exercised their franchise in the last 48 hours in Maharashtra. An election officer gave this information on Thursday, just hours before the first phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections. According to the scheme, 4,334 voters above the age of 85 and 727 persons with disabilities (PWD) voted.
