The Supreme Court has given an important order regarding this Hindu marriage.

An unceremonious marriage is invalid!

Yes, a Hindu wedding is not just a commercial affair of mehndi, song, dance and food. The Supreme Court ruled that a marriage without traditional rites is not valid under the Hindu Marriage Act.

A marriage that does not take place according to Hindu tradition is invalid!

It states that the traditional rituals and ceremonies prescribed under the Hindu Marriage Act will be solemn, strict and religious. The Supreme Court has strictly stated that if these are not followed, the marriage will be declared invalid even after registration.

Section 7 talks about Hindu wedding rituals!

Section 7 of the Act deals with Hindu marriage ceremonies. It must be followed for the validity of the marriage. If this is not followed, the marriage will not be considered valid in the eyes of the law, said the Supreme Court. Section 7 states that a Hindu marriage may be conducted according to any customary rites and ceremonies.
