He is a candidate from this center. Mufti Mahaboba will face DPAP President Ghulam Nabi Azad. Influential Gujjar leader Mian Altaf Ahmed became the Congress candidate from the same centre. Lok Sabha polls will be held there on May 7. Accompanied by several party leaders and hundreds of supporters, Mahbove submitted nominations that day. In an interview to the journalists, Mahaboob said that these elections will restore the status and identity of Jammu and Kashmir. I appeal to all people not to boycott the elections. Many are calling for a boycott of the elections in South Kashmir. It’s time to expose those who do. Vote for leaders who will think about the future and raise their voices for the common people.
The PDP president said that this Lok Sabha election is not about development issues like electricity, water and roads. This election will end the attack on our dignity, identity, wealth and resources that started after 2019. Mehbooba said, right now Kashmir has become an open prison. Today all our resources are taken from us and efforts are made to turn us into migrant workers in our country. We won’t let that happen. We own the land and the employment on that land.
