In Bilaspur, on the Maha Ashtami of Chaitra Navratri, devotees offered athwai to Maa Durga and performed the Vana Puja and sought blessings. Maha Aarti was performed in special worship at Devi temple. Devotees offered sacrifice full of Havan. On Mahanavami, royal makeup is done at Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Temple, Ratanpur on Wednesday.

Jawara baptism was done in homes and temples along with Kaniya Bhoj.
