London Drugs in Western Canada began gradually reopening stores after six days of closure.
The closure was due to a cyber security “incident” that occurred last Sunday.
“We ask for your patience as we work with each store to ensure it is fully operational to meet the needs of our customers, and therefore will not be communicating which stores are opening and when,” London Drugs staff said in a statement.
“As we have communicated over the past few days, our storage systems are complex and connect to multiple third party provider systems, each with different requirements.
“We continue to work with our third-party cyber security experts to safely bring our systems online.”
London Drugs said that all of its systems are not fully back, but that it will not delay reopening, as it “understands the need to meet the health care needs and the daily needs of its customers.”
Pharmacists are standing by at each store location to support urgent care needs, the chain said.

“We are pleased to announce that we are gradually reopening stores in a safe, secure and orderly manner to take care of the needs of our customers,” said Clint Mahlman, president and chief operating officer.
“We are grateful for the patience and support of our customers and suppliers as we work to bring all services and systems in our stores back to full operation following this cyber security incident.”
London Drugs said the only systems in use were “thoroughly tested for security and verified by third-party cyber security experts.”
The business said at this stage in its investigation, no evidence has been found that any customer databases have been compromised, including pharmacy patient databases and LExtras member databases.
Canada Post in-store locations are also accessible.
The cyber security incident shut down more than 80 locations across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
