Attack with 200 personnel

The challenges faced by the security forces during the attack on the Naxals were revealed to the media and it was learned that Inspector Laxman devised the main strategy for the encounter and led the team himself. The hilly area on the other side of the Kotari River was called the ‘Liberal Circle’ by the Maoists. An operation was planned as soon as information was received that large numbers of Maoists had gathered in the area. But getting there was challenging. However, Laxman revealed that he crossed all these and reached there with 200 security personnel.

Where did the gunfight start?

When we tried to plot the attack on Tuesday morning, a member of the Maoist gang detonated the bombs and alerted our leaders. As a result we had to hide there for a few hours. When we were 300 meters away from the Maoist camp, we sneaked in without them knowing our movement and surrounded us without raising any suspicion. But, since that was their place, they found us and started firing. The experiences of that time explained that the gunfight started with this.
