The Indian Coast Guard intercepted a fishing boat off the coast of Maharashtra and seized cash. Ratra’s office on Wednesday issued a statement saying that the team seized cash worth Rs 11.46 lakh from the boat. The team expressed concern that this cash was given by the Indian OSV in return for diesel smuggling.

The ICG intercepted the boat involved in diesel smuggling 83 nautical miles northwest of Mumbai, the statement said. The ship was brought to Mumbai early on Wednesday. A joint investigation is being conducted by the Revenue Intelligence Administration, Customs and the State Police. Based on information received by the customs department, the regional headquarters of ICG (West) launched an operation. Two fast patrol boats and one ICG interceptor were involved in the operation. According to the statement, preliminary investigation revealed that the boat with five crew members left Mandawa port on April 14 with the intention of smuggling.
The Indian Coast Guard rescues five fishermen at a distance of 50 km from Porbandar
Recently, the Indian Coast Guard safely rescued five fishermen from a fishing boat in the middle of the sea, 50 km from Porbandar. The force said that a call was received to the Maritime Rescue Center of the Coast Guard District Headquarters-1 (South Gujarat Daman and Diu) informing about the sinking boat and the fishermen. As soon as the information was received, the ICG C-16 immediately went to Porbandar and rescued all the five crew members of Paramsgarh.They were then brought to Porbandar and transferred to the Fisheries Department.
