Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) would prove to be a big game changer like the Silk Road. An agreement for IMEC was reached during the G20 summit hosted by India last year.

In an interview, Prime Minister Modi said about IMEC, “Gulf countries have played a positive role. America and Europe have also supported India on this issue. The Prime Minister also said, then there was an opportunity to meet the Saudi King and President Biden and I have a good friendship with both of them.

A joint agreement for IMEC was signed by India, the US, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy and the European Union during the G20 summit held in New Delhi in September last year.
