But there’s no need to splurge on a jet washer, because it turns out there’s a bargain buy from B&Q that gardening enthusiasts have been raving about – and they say it works like “magic” in removing porch stains.
It comes after a woman turned to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group and asked: “Looking for advice on cleaning my porch.
“Every year I clean it with my pressure washer but during the summer I have to keep doing it to keep it because it’s still green.
“But this year it’s really bad!
“Looking for a product to put on that will prevent the green from returning so quickly, does anyone have any recommendations?”
And luckily, she had no shortage of answers, with many suggesting the same product – Patio Magic.
The bargain buy, which can be bought for £12.75 at B&Q, claims it is “ideal for killing and controlling most algae, moss and mold in garages and patios in one application”.

The reviews section was flooded with five-star reviews, with one reading: “Great product to get rid of green mold without scrubbing.
“I have bought this several times as it is a very good product.”
Second write-up: “Brilliant patio cleaner – easy to use gets rid of all the green – our path, walkways and patios go up a treat. Just spray and go. Long lasting too. Always use it.”
Meanwhile, a third told how they used it on their fences that turned green and black during the winter.
“Easy to apply and dirt just melts away over 2 to 3 days without scrubbing,” they commented.
Wednesday was enthusiastic: “Patio magic. This is what is called… magic.”
And later tweeted: “The magic of the patio is brilliant just using our patio is definitely worth the money.”
