GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has declared the results of the HSLC 2024 examinations, held from February 16 to March 4, 2024, on April 20.

Here’s a fact check:
-The number of candidates who applied was 4,25,966 (absent: 6,888, detained: 361 and deported: 63)
-The number of candidates who appeared was: 4,19,078 (Male: 1,87,904, Female: 2,31,164, Transgender: 10)
– The percentage of transition is considered to be: 75.7 (men: 77.3%, women: 74.4%, transgenders: 80%)
– with honors (85% and above): 6,392
-with star signs (75% to 84.99%): 20,552
– League 1: 1,05,873 (including holders of honors and star marks)
– League B: 1,50,764

– Third League: 60,680
-with letter marks: 1,93,159 (highest in social sciences: 36,973)
-The three best performing districts: Chirang-91.2%, Nalbari-88.3%, Baksa-86.9%
– Lowest pass percentage – Udalgori district with 60.9%

The top five candidates in order of merit are:

-Anurg Duloy from Pragya Academy Senior School, Jorhat with 593 marks.

-Jharna Saikia from Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan Chariali, Biswanath with 590 marks.

-Manash Pratim Saikia of Island Academy, Kamalabari, from Jolly with 588 marks.

-Bedante Chowdhury from Stella Maris Sarupta, in Rapta with 588 marks.

-Devashree Kashyap of Ramanujam Higher Secondary School, Nagaon with 588 marks.
