Speeding claimed the lives of two in Gumla

Two youths lost their lives in a road accident near Nathpur Lauva Kera village in Palkot police station area. Mukesh Minj, 18, and Saurabh Jhora, 18, who were riding Duke’s speeding bike, died on the way to hospital. Both were not wearing helmets. The speed of the bike was such that the body of the trailer threw more than half of the bike under the road. Both were residents of Kaliga village in Basia police station area.

According to information, Mukesh Minj and Saurabh had come from Kaliga to Palkot around 4 pm on Wednesday to meet a friend and watch the Ram Navami procession. From where they were both returning home at around eight o’clock. Then there was a huge collision with a trailer parked on the side of the road near Lauwa Kera. After this, local people passing by took them both to the Busia Community Health Centre. Where doctors declared Mukesh dead. After first aid, Saurabh was referred to Sadar Gumla Hospital for better treatment. He was later referred to RIMS by Sadar. He died on the way to RIMS.

According to the people who were present at the scene, the young people who were riding the bike were moving on the road at a very high speed. Its speed will exceed 100 km per hour. The bike driver also tried to save the trailer. But due to high speed, as soon as he applied brakes, his bike became unbalanced and collided with the trailer. Deceased Mukesh Minj comes from a farmer’s family. Recently she had insisted on buying a bike from her father. Father had bought the bike by selling the land.
