New Delhi (May 01): Shocking news has come out of Delhi-NCR. Dwarka and Delhi Public School (DPS Dwarka) in Basant Vihar was in panic due to the news of bomb blasts. Information has also been received about the presence of a bomb in the Culture School in Chanakypur. A team from Delhi Police has reached the spot. All the school buildings have been taken under security insurance.
Along with the police, the bomb disposal squad and fire brigade personnel have also reached the spot. Delhi police officials said that an operation is currently underway to find the bomb. A bomb was also reported at a school in Noida. Hence, the news of the bomb has caused panic in 14 major schools of Delhi-NCR. Delhi police officials said the school premises have been cleared and a search is underway to ensure that if there is a bomb anywhere, it can be defused.
According to information, around 6:10 am on Wednesday, a bomb was dropped at Delhi Public School (DPS) in Dwarka. The information about a bomb in the school has created panic in the Delhi Police Department. A team of Delhi police immediately reached the spot. Also, the bomb disposal squad and the fire brigade team have also rushed to the spot. Fire tenders are also on site. On the other hand, a search operation is being conducted in DPS to find the bomb and the situation can be known.
Bomb alert in these schools
On Wednesday morning, the Delhi police swung into action after receiving a PCR call about bombs in 8 schools in Delhi. Whether it is a conspiracy or someone’s mischief, Delhi police is currently investigating the matter. News of bomb blasts in Sankhurthi School under Chanakyapuri Police Station in New Delhi district, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar in East Delhi, DPS schools in Dwarka and Basant Vihar have caused panic. Further, information was received about bombs at Ysgol DAV and Ysgol Amity (Saket) in Saket. Bombs were reported at the DPS in Noida and Greater Noida. A total of 14 schools have been bombed so far. Children from all concerned schools have been sent home.
Delhi police got the information
Delhi police officials said DPS received information from Dwarka about the presence of a bomb in the school. As soon as the information was received, a team of Delhi Police, Bomb Disposal Squad and Fire Brigade was dispatched to the spot. Along with this, fire brigade vehicles have also reached DPS Dwarka. At the moment, a search operation is being carried out on the entire school grounds, and the situation regarding the bomb can be explained. On the other hand, the news of a bomb explosion at the school scares them.
A school was also threatened in February
In February this year, a private school in RK Puram in the south received a bomb threat. Following this information, the school site was immediately evacuated and a search operation was launched for explosive materials, said the police. In September last year, someone had issued a similar threat to Lal Bahadur Shastri School via email, which later turned out to be just a rumour. Similarly, earlier too, Delhi Public School on Mathura Road had also received a similar email in May last year. Even then, the news about a bomb in the school was just a rumour.
