IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon set up a provincial task force against Gatka, Mawa, Mainpuri and other drugs.
The task force will be headed by the Additional IGCDT, if any police officer is found to be involved in Gutka Mawa sponsorship, action will be taken against not only the SHO but also the SSP concerned.
The task force will operate across the province and can call upon logistics and manpower from any police unit in this regard.
The task force will also monitor the investigation after registering the case.
A formal order has also been issued in this regard The order further states that wherever Gutka, Mawa and other drugs are found and the involvement of any police officer is proved, the SSP will be contacted Relevant departmental action will also be taken against Kar SHO.
It should be noted that even when Ghulam Nabi Memon was IG of Sindh, he formed a task force against Gatka Mawa, which had carried out many successful operations in Karachi.
