New Delhi (A.19): Voting for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections has begun. Elections for 102 seats in 21 states have started today in the first phase. In accordance with the guidelines of the Electoral Commission, a ban has been placed on many events such as public meetings or processions from the night of April 17, two days ago. It is worth noting that the Lok Sabha elections will be held in 6 phases this time. The election results will be out on June 4. What time does voting start?

Voting will take place today between 8am and 5pm. But those standing in the queue until 5 pm will have an extra hour to vote.

Voting will be held in these states in the first phase?

1- Uttar Pradesh: Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Pilibhit and Rampur.

2- Rajasthan: Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur.

3- Madhya Pradesh: Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Chhindwara.

4- Assam: Kaziranga, Sonitpur, Takhimpur, Dibrugarh and Jorhat.

5- Bihar: Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada and Jammu.

6- Maharashtra: Ramtek, Nagpur, Bhandara-Gondia, Gadchiroli Chimur and Chandrapur.

7- Chhattisgarh: Bastar.

8- Jammu and Kashmir: Udhampur.

9- Arunachal Pradesh: Arunachal West, Arunachal East.

10- Meghalaya: Shillong, Tura.

1625 candidates in the election arena

There are 1625 candidates (Male 1491; Female 134) in fraud. 41 helicopters, 84 special trains and around 1 lakh vehicles have been used to transport polling and security personnel. The Electoral Commission has taken several essential steps to conduct peaceful and smooth elections.

Sufficient central police forces have been deployed at the polling stations to provide security for the voting process. Webcasting will be done in more than 50 polling booths. Along with the deployment of micro observers, 361 observers have been deployed in all polling booths. In this post 127 General Supervisors, 67 Police Supervisors and 167 Finance Supervisors are posted.

Along with this, more than 14.14 lakh voters above the age of 85 are registered and there are 13.89 lakh disabled voters. A collection and drop-off facility is provided for disabled voters over the age of 85 and those who decide to come to the polling booth. PWD voters can book wheelchair braille facilities through ECI enabled app. Model polling stations are being set up in 102 Lok Sabha constituencies with a local theme. More than 5000 polling stations including security guards are staffed entirely by women and more than 1000 polling stations are staffed by persons with disabilities (PWD).

All the necessary facilities for voters

Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said that each polling booth will be built on the ground floor and will have drinking water, toilets, sheds, ramps, wheelchairs, aid stations and volunteers for voters.

Voter Information Slips were also sent to voters at home. Rajeev Kumar acknowledged the summer heat and told voters that every precaution should be taken to avoid it. However, he expressed confidence that Indian voter enthusiasm will subside.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar reminded the voters that they are electing their MPs and deciding the government of the Center and four states. He emphasized that he was working for himself, his family and his children and for the country.
