Despite inflation reportedly falling below two per cent by spring, according to a Farm Credit Canada report, Canadians continue to brace for rising food prices.

Still, slowing inflation does not mean prices are generally falling. Statistics Canada noted in its latest statement that food prices rose by almost 22 percent between February 2021 and February 2024.

According to a survey conducted by Nanos Research for CTV News, Canadians are more likely to blame grocery stores for rising food prices than any other reason.

Thirty-two percent of those surveyed said grocery stores were the No. 1 reason for the sudden increase in food prices, up from 28 percent in 2023.

According to the FCC, Canadians have been cutting back on food and beverage spending.

CTVNews.ca wants to talk to Canadians about whether their food habits have changed amid rising food prices and the cost of living.

Which foods cost too much? What foods have you cut out of your groceries? Have you changed your food and eating habits? What food tips have you implemented that have helped with costs? Do you look at gardening or gardening differently in light of food costs?
