Electricity has been made more expensive for the entire country including Karachi.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved increasing the cost of electricity by Rs 2 75 paise per unit.
An electricity price increase was approved in the second quarter of this financial year.
Nepra has sent the decision to raise electricity price to the federal government. The decision stated that additional collections should be made from consumers in April, May and June.
The increase in the price of electricity will also apply to electricity consumers.
This increase will put an additional burden of 85 billion 20 crore rupees on the consumers.
