Bengaluru: Dwarakish, who shone in the film industry for more than five decades, has passed away. He left this world with a massive heart attack that made fans laugh and cry. With the death of Dwarakish (Dwarakish No More), another link of Kannada cinema has been lost.
Many film industry dignitaries including Sandalwood have condoled the death of Dwarkeesh, now Prime Minister Narendra Modi and veteran actor Rajinikanth have also condoled the death of veteran Canadian actor Dwarkeesh.

Posting about Dwarkeesh’s death on his official Twitter account, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Dwarkeesh’s contributions to the film industry are immense, with decades of great acting and great films. His ability to attract audiences and support young talent has played a vital role in the growth of the Kannada film industry. Saddened by his death. We will always remember his amazing journey. Condolences to his family and fans,” he tweeted.
Tamil star actor Rajinikanth also mourned the death of his friend and mourned the loss of his ‘dear friend’. Jani called Dwarkeesh’s sudden demise ‘painful’. “I am deeply saddened by the death of my dear friend Dwarkeesh who started his career as a comedian and developed himself as a great producer and director… old memories flood my mind. My deepest condolences to him.

Arrangements have been made for a public darshan at Rabindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore today from 7am to 11am. Devotees are already reaching Rabindra Kalakshetra in huge numbers and are allowed to have final darshan till 11 o’clock. Dwarkeesh’s son Yogi Dwarkeesh said that the last rites will be performed at Rudrabhoomi in Chamarajpet in the afternoon.
