These products look just like luxury brands and are sold in the market at very cheap prices. Many people get confused after seeing these products as to which is real and which is fake.
Understand the difference between master copy, first copy and second copy.
A master copy is an exact copy of the original product. It may be ‘fake’ but good material is used in it. ‘The first copy is also a copy of a big brand. Special care is given to their packing, stringer and stitching but their quality is not very good.
Master copy and first copy can last for a long time but second copy products are not durable because poor quality material is used in them. If a master copy of a famous brand is sold for Rs 5,000, then the first copy is available for Rs 1,000, while the second copy is available to the customer for up to Rs 500.

Shopkeepers many times cheat customers in the name of the original brand. Materials of different quality are also used in making duplicate products. The first copy is durable and often comes with a barcode that can be scanned to identify the product, but the second copy does not have a barcode.

Fashion expert Ajgar Ali said that branded outfits are always made of good and expensive fabric. Pockets will always be visible in the main copy of the garment, the first copy or the second copy. Their fabric, embroidery, buttons, chains are all used of cheap quality. In these copies, low quality fabrics are used such as lawn instead of satin and georgette instead of chiffon. Stitching them is also not good. The company’s logo or name is written on every button and zip of branded clothing, but this is not the case with replica products.

Luxury brands use genuine leather that does not contain fragrance. While Master Copy, First Copy products have a strong smell because they contain chemicals. Luxury brand purses have a good quality chain with the company logo on it. Also its color matches the color of the purse.

A shopper, on condition of anonymity, said that most luxury brands are copied soon after their launch.
Talking about metropolitan cities, master copy, first copy or second copy luxury items are cheapest in Mumbai because all the famous luxury brands are there and the original products are launched there first.
Being Bollywood, Mumbai is the hub of latest fashion, so fashion trends start from this city first.
The trend increased after seeing celebrities
Fashion expert Bhavna Jindal says that fake copies of original products from luxury brands are sold in the market because people want to look like celebrities. They wish to use expensive brands in their styling like celebrities.
Nowadays, social media influencers also copy celebrities and give styling tips to people with cheap and fake products like celebs, due to which the youth of today are the most affected.

Although copies of products from famous luxury brands are openly sold in the market, duplicating the product is a legal offence. This is a violation of copyright. If someone sells a product in the original brand name, the shopkeeper may be jailed or may have to pay a fine.
In fact, copying luxury brands damages the value of the brand which causes loss of crores to the company. When a product of poor quality reaches the customer several times in the name of a brand, it raises questions about the credibility of the company. Because of this the company begins to lose the trust of customers.
