City Reporter Fire Service Day was celebrated at Bokaro BSL CISF Bokaro on Monday. The occasion commemorated the sacrifice of all the martyred firefighters who sacrificed their lives while extinguishing the fire on board the SS Fort Stykin at the Victoria Shipyard, Bombay on 14 April 1944. The chief guest of the programme, Commander Nitin Kumar Tyagi, addressed and administer the oath on fire safety. Assistant Commandant Manoj Chauhan gave the welcome speech. Two minutes silence was observed and prayers were offered in memory of the martyred firefighters. Said that Fire Service Week is celebrated between 14 and 20 April. During this week, programs will be organized within the factory, townships and schools to create awareness of fire safety.
